2018 was the first year that Safety Decals hosted a booth at the IAGSE Expo. It was held in Las Vegas, NV at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. And because of the size of GSE equipment the show was mostly setup outside. Our team worked hard setting up our booth (twice), staying hydrated in the desert heat, meeting important people in the Airport Ground Support Equipment industry and selling, selling, selling!
We made some amazing connections with United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, JetBlue Airlines, Virgin Airlines/Galactic and Amazon! We have several visits scheduled with these future customers and are excited for all the great things to come in the aerospace industry in the months and years ahead.
We are always striving to stay on top of the latest technology in the printing world. Not only does that keep us current and competitive in our industry, it helps cut costs and creates efficiencies within our Production department. As a result that allows us to share the cost savings with our customers.
We added the new HP Latex 570 printer to our shop which helps us expand our capacity with fleet management and drive high productivity with fast print speeds, cost efficiencies and a streamlined workflow.
This printer helps to diversify our capabilities while printing faster and using less ink in the process. We produce everything from banners, vehicle graphics, decals, signage, etc. from this printer, keeping us as a leader in the print industry.
Each year the Michigan Manufacturers Association gives out the John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year Award as part of the 2018 MFG Excellence Awards. This award honors the important, positive and tangible contributions individual manufacturers make to their employees, customers and communities.
We are proud and excited that our CEO, Nick Tykoski, and our Safety Decals team have been nominated for this award!
Thank you for all of your support over the years. We wouldn't be here without our global community who make us better each and every day.
A special thank you to the Safety Decals team for their dedication, loyalty and hard work getting to where we are today!
Winners to be announce in November 2018.

Jordan has joined our Production team and has quickly become on one of our go-to guys on all of our machines and processes in the shop. He comes to Safety Decals with a background in the aerospace industry where he earned his A&P license and associates degree at MIAT in Canton, Michigan; then worked for Kalitta Air as an A&P mechanic.
Jordan's biggest accomplishment was a 7.5 month road trip around the United States and Canada where he visited 33 states and 42 National Parks, hied 1,000 miles and drove 30,000 miles! A month later he completed a 2.5 month backpacking trip through Asia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. These adventures have given him a lifetime of memories and allowed him to see places so beautiful they took his breath away. He remembers fondly the amazing and friendly people he met along the way.
Family, friends and hard work are the most important things in Jordan's life. He remains close to his older sister, twin sister, and his parents, who all reside in Ludington. They often travel and take family adventures where they continue building memories.
Jordan lives on the farm where he grew up and enjoys working hard no matter if it's at work or at home. He enjoys hiking and camping in the beautiful state of Michigan in all months of the year. Kayaking and floating down the river is a relaxing time for Jordan as he loves the outdoors.
Ashley joined the Safety Decals team as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Her main role is trying to keep the boss-man Nick in line! Along with producing work orders, invoicing customers, providing quotes, serving as our customer liaison and even helping our Production team when needed, she has proven to be a true asset to our growth.
Ashley brings an accounting degree and experience to the Safety Decals team. She has over 10 years of working in the Oil & Gas industry where her responsibilities ranged from well production, well drilling, to water disposal accounting. Together with her accounting knowledge she also has many years in customer service focused jobs that transitions perfectly to the Safety Decals role.
Ashley and her husband, Doug, along with their fur kids recently moved to Ludington, Michigan from Marietta, Ohio. (Ashley says NO booing allowed!) They all love the great outdoors and try not to miss any new adventures such as hiking, camping, kayaking, biking, hunting and most of all, bass fishing! She is very competitive and is always looking to make a "friendly" competition out of everything her and Doug do. Doug on the other hand, is not always up for it. She loves playing volleyball. Indoor volleyball has always been her favorite, but since moving to Ludington she's learned to enjoy beach volleyball on sandy shores of Lake Michigan.
Ashley is excited and honored to be part of a "work family" team. She will be helping us grow with her organizational skills, attention to detail and sense of humor. She's already been nicknamed "Smiles" for her happy and positive attitude. She's happy and excited for her next chapter as a Michigander!
Amelia joined the Safety Decals team this summer as a Drafter, Designer and Detailer. Her primary role is to create and prepare digitally rendered graphics ready for print production. Among her duties as a digital design drafter, she also has expertise in laser CNC production, allowing her to function as both a preparator of artwork and a technician in laser etching and cutting with our Production team.
Amelia has a rich background in digital fabrication, both as a technician and a researcher, and is well versed in various digital drafting programs and CNC machines for output. Prior to working at Safety Decals, Amelia taught art courses at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, while pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in sculpture, print making, and digital fabrication. Amelia was a supervisor of the digital fabrication labs at Indiana University's School of Art, Architecture and Design. She also implemented many of these processes within her own work as an artist, and as a teacher, using these new technologies as teaching tools in her art assignments.
Originally born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she graduated with her Bachelor of Art in Studio Art and Psychology from Hope College in Holland, Michigan in 2014. She received her MFA from the aforementioned Indiana University this year. After finding her love for digital fabrication at IU, Amelia began seeking out career opportunities to further pursue her knowledge and work in the field.
Amelia currently lives and works in Ludington, Michigan with her partner Ryan, also an artist. Together, they enjoy pursuing creative activities inside and outside of the Grand Rapids art community.
Working both in the office and occasionally remote from Grand Rapids, Amelia is excited to be a part of this fast-paced growing team of talented and driven individuals!
