Safety Decals is happy to announce the hiring of two key team members this month! As we prepare for extreme growth this year it is important to bring on talent that will help guide the company in the right direction. Please help us in welcoming Lori Knudsen and Rebecca Sibole to the Safety Decals family!
Lori Knudsen is the Financial Controller of Safety Decals. Her primary role is to keep all aspects of the company’s finances in order, analyzed, interpreted and documented properly. Together with Nick and our CPA, Lori will participate in the selection of financial institutions, insurance providers, preparation of taxes and cost accounting.
Prior to joining the Safety Decals team Lori was the CFO at ProAct Services in Ludington, Michigan. There she managed the Finance Department to ensure accurate financial data was available to management and their equity partners. The role included personnel management across locations in the US as well as traveling to build and maintain key relationships. Lori was integral part in growing ProAct, identifying future investors, and assisting with mergers and acquisitions.
Lori, and her husband Bob, have lived in Ludington all their married lives. That’s 29 years this July! They have 2 adult children; Christina who is married and lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan , and Spencer who lives in Virginia and works as a Tennis Pro. Lori enjoys long walks on our beautiful Lake Michigan beaches and volleyball. Lately though she has been binge watching Netflix while recouping from knee surgery.
Lori’s reputation for being straightforward and highly ethical have always helped her move to her next career opportunity. She is excited for the opportunity to work for a company on the verge of huge growth and is enjoying the relaxed family atmosphere that a family-owned company has.
Rebecca Sibole is the Vice President of Safety Decals. She wears many hats but her key role is managing all sales and marketing opportunities as well as the graphic design needs for the Safety Decals customer base.
She comes with a diverse resume that includes product management, marketing, graphic design and sales. She previously worked for 365 Retail Markets in Troy, Michigan as a product manager where she managed a software product line and all the people and departments that supported it.
In 2009 she graduated from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan with a bachelor’s in interior architecture. After a few years in the workforce, as a result of the recession, she decided it was time to go back to school to pursue a different career path. In 2015 she graduated from Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts, with her master’s degree in marketing and public relations.
Rebecca lives in Ferndale, Michigan with her husband, stepson and their two dogs. Her and her husband are flea market enthusiasts and DIY junkies. They enjoy renovating their 1950s home and their all-original 1970s Airstream.
Although Rebecca lives in Ferndale she frequents in the Ludington office where her experience, organization and detail-oriented tendencies bring a fresh perspective to the growing staff and business. She is eager to roll up her sleeves and help groom Safety Decals for the growth coming their way.
The ARA Rental Show is where it was at in New Orleans this week! Our team is just returning home from an exciting trip, meeting up with some of our customers and made some great new business opportunities. The warm sun, Bourbon Street, jambalaya and jazz music from the most unique city in the United States was just an added bonus to the trip!
This was our first time attending The Rental Show and were shocked to find it had everything from silverware and linens to heavy equipment and cranes. Who knew that the rental industry could bring so many different types of products together?
It was hard for us not to check out the decal competition at an event like that though. We did however find consistencies with our competitors: the wrong material choices for the application, incorrect ANSI safety standards, and poor print color matching to the branding guidelines, just to name a few. If only we had time to teach a decals 101 class while there!
We mentioned earlier this month that 2018 is our year and it's going to be full of changes!
Well, to kick the season of changes off we're excited to announce that our marketing team has been working hard at a total website overhaul of SafetyDecals.com!
Although a website is never done in the eyes of our marketing team, we are still excited for you to see what we've been up to. Our hope is that you get a better glimpse into the wide array of services that we offer you and your business, provide helpful resources to make you successful, launch our new online store for easy ordering of our in-stock products and let you in on the fun we have at the Safety Decals headquarters.
But of course, we'd love for you to tell us in the comments below or email us what you'd like to see and learn more about! Your ideas and feedback are invaluable to our team.
Check back often for updates and new products in our online store. And make sure to sign up for our newsletter for the latest industry news, business humor, product discounts and how-to's. Oh, and we'd be remiss if we didn't mention our social media channels. There's always something fun going on over there...maybe even a giveaway!
